CHIARA & GREGORIO
Chiara, the meticulous architect, and Gregorio, the spontaneous financier,
met on a long-haul flight from Milan to New Delhi in August 2016. Their relationship is a perfect balance of structure and adventure,
which was highlighted when Gregorio proposed almost nine years later, while they were “windsurfing in Fuerteventura.”
Chiara, who describes herself as having a “black belt in planning” with
Excel spreadsheets and Gantt charts, designed a wedding that was two-fold. Their shared vision was an intimate ceremony
with their closest family and friends, followed by a huge, vibrant party focused
on their extensive international social circle.
The first celebration was traditional affair in Trieste.
They married in the small, charming Church of San Pasquale Baylon, followed by
a delightful reception at Gregorio’s family villa.
Chiara’s architectural skill transformed the garden: a special square table encircled an illuminated tree, which became
the magical centerpiece of the candlelight dinner. The peak of it all?
A six-kilogram Sachertorte, flown in directly from Vienna.
“I would have started the ceremony in the church an hour before,” Gregorio joked later, “just to spend more time at the aperitivo with our guests!”
The second part was a complete contrast — a lively, informal weekend party in Apulia. This time, the guest list swelled to 180, drawing friends from Dubai, New York, London, Beirut, and many other locations for an international festival of fun.
No parents allowed!
The atmosphere was fresh and Mediterranean, decorated with succulents
and fig trees instead of traditional flowers.
It was a celebration of life, love, and friendship, focused entirely on music.
The couple’s motto, displayed across the venue, perfectly captured the spirit of the event: “Ti amo, balliamo?” (“I love you, shall we dance?”)
From a chance meeting at 30,000 feet to an unforgettable
two-part Italian extravaganza, their story is a beautiful testament to finding perfect harmony in contrasting styles.
“Everything I planned and organized with my mom was such
a special and beautiful experience,” Chiara reflects, “I wish I could go back, even just to relive those moments with her.” They are still planning their honeymoon, having moved to Dubai shortly after the wedding.
“We’re still figuring it out,” Gregorio explains, “but it will be amazing.”
