Often among the first to arrive at a wedding, they work swiftly and discreetly, yet their stunning creations never go unnoticed. We’re talking about Alena „Ali“ Vaňátková, the founder of Prague‘s florest atelier, and her team.
Florist and wedding decor designer Ali works primarily with couples who love design and are not looking for catalog solutions, but rather individuality and experience. For couples who know exactly what they like and are intentionally choosing someone who can bring their visions to life down to the smallest detail.
Flowers as storytellers
Her foundation is to get to know the bride and groom, build a relationship and trust. When given creative freedom, she produces her best ideas. Ali briefly becomes part of the couple‘s wedding story, blending into it to create installations and bouquets that harmonize in color and shape, crafting the desired mood. She can emphasize the atmosphere of reverent calm in churches, grand celebration in castles, or pure joy at garden parties.
An experience that (doesn‘t) fade
Sometimes, the bride hugs her. Whether at their first meeting or after the wedding, such feedback means the world to her. That’s when she knows she has once again crafted a beautiful decoration that became part of the overall experience and one the newlyweds won’t forget. Another testament to her work is when satisfied clients invite her to other life events and once again request her floral artistry. Besides weddings, she also decorates other events, delighting in bringing energy with flowers where it might otherwise be missing.
Now you know the significance flowers can have when placed in the right hands. How does Ali perceive their power? “I love flowers for their transi- ence. They’re here briefly, they bloom, spread their fragrance — and then disappear. But what they cause remains. And that’s my work.”
