ECSTASY OF SHAPES AND COLORS
Floral art is about exploring shapes, colors, and rhythm, much like architecture. With Adela Strimbeanu from the Slovak wedding agency Holubica, we continue this year’s series of arrangements inspired by famous buildings. This time,
her floral creations reflect the playful and bold works of the Austrian visionary Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The absence of straight or even regular lines, vibrant colors, contrasts, and an abundance of greenery — the Vienna Hundertwasserhaus rightly draws the attention of passersby. Similarly, the wedding bouquet, with its layers of flowers in blue and orange hues, is equally eye-catching.
The contrasting combination emphasizes the extravagance of the whole and brings in an unexpected playfulness. To make the inspiration feel even more authentic, part of the photoshoot took place right by the Hundertwasserhaus. The bouquet seems as if it naturally belongs to this iconic building, doesn‘t it?
The second arrangement is inspired by the Green Citadel in Magdeburg. Pastel pink tones, the absence of straight lines, and subtle green accents reference a building that feels more like a fantastical fairy tale than an urban home. The extravagant bouquet and table decorations utilize the principles of layers and mosaics, giving the whole a rich and lively appe- arance. Just as Hundertwasser loved — no straight lines, no clichés, just the joy of colors and shapes.
