PAYTON & BRADLEY
How did a florist from California and a musician from Nashville come together? Thanks to Instagram and the pandemic. Payton originally planned just a short visit to see Bradley. However, the visit stretched over several weeks
due to both of them catching COVID. And so, their love story began. Three
years later, Bradley got down on one knee at one of Payton’s favorite spots – a cliff in Bodega Bay, California. The wedding date was clear immediately,
with the symbolic date of 11.11 holding special meaning for both of them. Finding the perfect venue was a bit more challenging, but they
eventually chose Emerson Hall in East Nashville. The venue, which could host
85 guests, was a blank canvas, allowing Payton, as the owner of a floral business,
to bring her vision of perfect decor to life. On that day, white was reserved exclusively for the bride, while everything else matched the warm and playful tones.
“We wanted a wedding that was fun yet intimate, fresh yet traditional, timeless yet infused with the spirit of Nashville,” Payton reveals.
They infused a typical Nashville vibe into the wedding with thoughtful details: guitars hanging from the ceiling, Bradley’s cowboy hat, Southern cuisine, and a DJ who turned the evening into a true party. The ceremony itself, however,
began softly – Bradley walked down the aisle to a string rendition
of Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down, Payton was escorted by her father to the melody of
A Thousand Years, and the newlyweds exited to the sound of Def Leppard’s
Pour Some Sugar on Me.
The couple chose to honor a few traditions, but each moment of the wedding carried their personal touch. Before the ceremony, they exchanged their vows privately and didn’t miss their favorite first look. However,
they skipped the bouquet toss. Instead, Payton gave her bouquet to her mom.
The true merging of the two families was symbolized by their choice of witnesses: Bradley asked Payton’s brother, and Payton chose Bradley’s sister.
Alongside the traditional wedding gift registry, the couple also
created a honeymoon fund, which they used to travel to Costa Rica a month after the wedding. Payton handled most of the wedding preparations herself but brought in a wedding coordinator during the final month for additional support.
And she wouldn’t change a thing about their wedding day – it was exactly as they envisioned. Intimate, unique, with a touch of Southern charm,
and filled with love and joy. Just like newlyweds!
