Their love story could easily be compared to a treasure hunt.
Charlotte and Kevin first found each other on Tinder — but their connection
mysteriously disappeared, and to this day they can’t quite agree on what actually hap
pened. Either way, Kevin wasn’t about to give up. He channelled his inner detective,
tracked Charlotte down on LinkedIn, and asked her out for a beer.
The rest, as they say, is history.
The proposal came almost two years into their relationship, on a hotel balcony in
Lisbon during sunset, glasses of wine in hand — and, in a rather
unconventional twist, a temporary ring. Kevin wanted his future bride to choose the
perfect one herself. From that moment on, they they dove into wedding
planning together — and yes, that even meant helping each other
pick out their wedding day looks.
They had no need for a wedding coordinator — surrounding them was a wonderful
circle of family and friends who threw themselves wholeheartedly into the prepara
tions. And overseeing it all, of course, was their beloved cat, Ellen.
The result was a sophisticated celebration with an artistic, almost sculptural edge
and a distinctly local feel— a vibe that extended into the evening before the wedding,
when they invited friends and family for an open house in their nearby home.
The venue was never really up for debate. Years earlier, Charlotte had stumbled upon
the almost hidden location during a walk through her neighborhood.
“I noticed the entrance to the most beautiful garden with a stunning building,
and I was completely captivated. And just across the road stood the church I’d admired
for years and always hoped to be married in one day.”
Kevin, however, had one small hesitation.
“I hadn’t exactly imagined a church ceremony,” he admits with a smile,
“but I knew how much it meant to Charlotte — and seeing it all come together,
I’m so glad we chose it.” Charlotte and Kevin deliberately
chose the beginning of November for their wedding day — and for good reason.
The entire garden was ablaze with colour, and against the warm
tones of orange, red and brown, the bride was simply breathtaking in her
flowing ivory gown, an unconventional ruffle veil, and a wild, lush bouquet where
calla lilies, anthuriums and orchids took centre stage.
The autumnal palette carried through to the décor as well, while seasonal flavours
made a memorable appearance on the wedding menu, crafted
by Michelin-starred chefs. Every guest had their place — quite literally.
Charlotte’s father created a large metal
installation on which the couple displayed individual polaroid photos of themselves
with each guest. The photos served not only as a seating plan but also
as a keepsake — a beautiful memento of one extraordinary
day filled with local traditions and love.
