DIANA & FILIP
What would two engineers — programmer Filip and nuclear physicist Diana — tell you about love? Probably that, beyond the physical plane, meaning attraction,
a relationship must also thrive on mutual chemistry. And that chemistry has not faded even after 10 years together.
They met before starting university, and although they both come from Slovakia, Prague, as their city of study, left a lasting impression on them. So much so that Filip chose the location of their first date in Prague to propose to Diana. However, the couple decided to hold their actual wedding in their homeland, specifically in the southwest of Slovakia. There, they found an absolutely magical venue at Neco Estate Winery, surrounded by a beautiful garden and offering accommodations.
The location is also just a few minutes‘ walk from the church where Diana and Filip decided to say their “I DO” during a traditional church ceremony.
“We really appreciated that everything took place in one location: the ceremony, the reception, and the accommodations. It greatly contributed to an overall relaxed atmosphere,” the bride remarks.
Everyone involved gave their all to the wedding. The bridesmaids
and mothers helped with coordination, the groom‘s sister baked a classic cake and an unconventional doll-shaped cake, the photographer blended in perfectly
with the crowd, and the DJ wasn’t afraid to transition from a folk session to a full- -blown rave party. The bride herself came up with the
décor and designed the
stationery, which prominently featured her beloved pink color.
The newlyweds succeeded in creating a perfectly balanced mix of traditions and modernity. During the ceremony held in the church on June 6 at 3:00 PM,
the classic wedding march was followed by a performance from rapper Lil Peep before the reception began. The groom did carry the bride over the threshold, and the evening featured the ancient Slovak tradition of “čepčení”(an old Slovak ritual involving removing the wreath from the bride‘s head - editor‘s note). This intimate and emotional ritual, for which Diana wore her mother‘s folk costume,
was followed by the mentioned rave — and it got even the older family members on their feet. Diana and Filip did not wish for wedding gifts
or the floral arrangements
that accompany traditional Slovak weddings. Instead, they welcomed financial contributions. They planned their honeymoon for
August and decided to head to the Maldives. We hope the sun shines on them
not only during their vacation but also on their journey together.
