MELANIE & RÉMY
One gym visit changed their lives forever. That’s where Melanie met
her soulmate, Rémy — and the moment he saw her, his heart rate shot up, and this
time, the workout had nothing to do with it.
He tried to find her on social media but couldn’t manage it alone. In the end, it was her
friend from their training sessions who came to the rescue.
She deserves a little credit too for the fact that, eight years later, Rémy got down on
one knee as the sun rose over the Brooklyn Bridge and asked Melanie to be his wife.
Melanie is originally from Portugal and had always dreamed of celebrating her big day
in her homeland — a wish Rémy was more than happy to grant.
For their venue, they chose a resort in the north of the country, rightfully known
as a hidden gem. Palm trees, charming little
corners perfect for relaxing, and above all, a truly fairytale-like ceremony hall — all
just a five-minute drive from Melanie’s hometown,
a place she had loved since childhood.
From the very beginning, they had one clear vision: a black-tie wedding.
Sharply elegant, with a deliberate focus on making the bride in white stand out against
a sea of dark suits and gowns. The décor followed the same spirit — spectacular
installations of white roses, rustic candlelight, crystal chandeliers and an epic floral
ceiling canopy above the ceremony space.
The entire day reflected the art of indulgence and celebration
that comes so naturally to the Portuguese. A perfectly curated menu of local
specialities, live saxophone music, a disco ball and outdoor pyrotechnics during the
wedding toast — not a single detail was left to chance.
“We planned the wedding for two years,
and throughout the whole time we were surrounded by so much love and attention
from our closest people. That’s why we enjoyed the planning just as much as the big
day itself,” Melanie says warmly — and in doing so,
she perfectly captures just how important it is to let go of the stress
and instead create the most beautiful memories along the way.
