MIRIAM &  MARIAN

We often hear that the most beautiful things in life are the simplest.
Miriam and Marian confirm this at every step. An operations manager and a doctoral 
student from Brno spend their free time walking their Dalmatian,  
and it was this everyday life that became the basis  
of their wedding — intimate, personal and exactly as it should have been.
They met at work. First professionally, then personally, and after five years of dating,  
it was time for the next step. Marian had planned a romantic
proposal in Vienna, but as he himself admits: “I couldn’t wait and I wanted to
propose to Miriam as soon as possible.” Vienna waited, love didn’t.
They spread the preparations over a leisurely ten months and managed without  
a coordinator — on the D-day, the best men and bridesmaids took over.  
The ceremony took place in the church of St. John in Brno, a parish church local to 
them. “For us, it is the most beautiful church we have ever visited,” they say. 
The ceremony itself carried all the symbolism — no other rituals were needed.
Just an organist, a wedding march and thirty of their closest people.
Dinner was a small culinary adventure — a fusion of Czech cuisine with Asian flavors, 
exactly to their taste. The pianist’s tones permeated the entire evening, which  
concluded with a playlist they had put together.  
The first dance? I’ve Been Waiting for You by ABBA. It’s hard to imagine  
a more apt choice.
Even before the wedding, they prepared an extraordinary experience — at a workshop
with jeweler Anna Kubicová, they made their own wedding rings.
And the Dalmatian? He inspired part of the decoration,
along with minimalist greenery.  
The whole day was sensitively captured by
photographer Michael Fraňo — a man who will do anything for the perfect shot.
He might even carry a three-meter canvas on his back to the Fresco Hall in the city 
center. His approach was one of the greatest experiences of the whole day for both of 
them. “We wouldn’t change a thing — everything went exactly as we wanted,”  
they both agree. Their honeymoon is yet to come — Japan awaits them this year.
So let it work out for them.
