TORI & RICHARD
Their relationship began with a drama — literally. It was during a university play rehearsal at Richard‘s apartment, led by his roommate, that he met Tori, a charming beauty with Scottish-Italian roots who was part of the acting team.
One thing led to another, followed by a drink, and soon their love story began. After nine years together, they decided to move from London to the Italian capital. A year later, Richard proposed to Tori in their Roman apartment.
The romantic atmosphere was enhanced by a century-old family ring and the song Say Yes by Elliott Smith playing in the background by chance.
Although they could have chosen the UK or Italy for their wedding, the couple decided on Ibiza. “When Tori‘s grandparents
first visited Ibiza in 1962, they were
completely enchanted by the island and decided to build a villa there.
Over the years, Tori spent many wonderful moments on the island and considers it her second home. A wedding in Sant Agustí, where the villa stands, seemed only natural,” Richard explains.
Tori and Richard wanted a smaller, peaceful wedding, so they organized almost everything themselves. They enlisted coordinators to assist with the wedding paperwork and requested musical accompaniment for the church ceremony. This took place in early May at a unique 18th-century church.
Every element of the wedding embraced a community spirit.
The reception was held at a family friend‘s restaurant,
featuring delights like roasted lamb shoulder and two special Ibizan desserts that replaced a traditional wedding cake. A local multi-instrumentalist providedmusic, and the floral arrangements were crafted by a local florist.
The day full of love and friendship concluded with a cocktail party under
a thousand-year-old olive tree in a nearby town.
“The intimacy of the entire wedding was absolutely perfect. We deepened our connections with the locals and our guests who flew in from all over the world.
I was also thrilled with my outfits — silk wedding dress from the 1990s and hand-crocheted after-party dress based on a 1970s design,”
Tori adds enthusiastically.
The newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon in two parts.
Still on Ibiza, they took a short trip to the Finca Can Martí hotel with
a pool and donkeys. At the end of summer, they traveled to Apulia to indulge in the beauty of Italian life.
