GIYOU - Milada Bláhová working on wedding flowerGiyou means the joy of giving. Not that you’ll find the word in any dictionary – it was coined by Milada and Radek Bláha, the founders of a brand with a unique product range. Welcome to an eternal garden full of extraordinary flowers. They look stunning in a vase, but they don’t need water. Every time you pass by them, they remind you that the world is a beautiful place when somebody loves you.

Surrounded by inspiration

Gardens have always been places of regeneration, relaxation and beauty. And six years ago, in one Central Bohemian garden in bloom, an idea was born to immortalise the essence of floral joy. “The main thing for us was that our flowers should be something people cherish and, though they are manmade, that they embody as much of the essence of real flowers as possible, especially their delicacy and emotion,” says Radek Bláha, recalling the seed from which the business grew. For three years, Radek and his wife Milada developed their idea for precious-metal flowers until they were satisfied, and in 2022 the Giyou brand was launched.

Cultivating a precious garden

Their flowers caught the attention of the media and customers almost overnight. Soon they were receiving undreamt-of orders, such as a unique bouquet of 118 pieces made of pure gold. This bouquet consists mainly of simple flowers found in the Czech countryside, like the daisy, cornflower and lamb’s tongue. In fact, it is the plants close to our hearts that form the core of Giyou’s jewellery garden. All of them are the result of painstaking design work: after lost-wax casting they are finished using classic goldsmithing techniques. Every year, new flowers join the collecti- on and others leave, so their garden is constantly changing.

The first gold and silver flowers were marketed as gift items, but that
was followed by a home décor line. Examples include an inspiring option called Eternity, where a new flower from the collection is added to your vase on a chosen date every year. Another idea was a “family vase”
to connect generations – each woman or girl in the family has her own
flower forming part of the whole. How luxurious you want to go is up to you, of course, but even one little silver flower sends a powerful message. Giyou also offers designer vases from selected brands to go with their flowers.

Saying “I do” with a flower

Special moments are the ideal occasion for special flowers. “At first, people bought our flowers primarily as wedding gifts, but then they started to create bridal bouquets out of them,” Milada explains. If a bride wants to incorporate silver or gold flowers into her bouquet, the length of the metal stems can be adapted. The jewellery flowers then live on as a memento of the precious moment. But Giyou has taken it one step further. “Young couples today are keen to strike their own path. That’s why we offer our flowers as alternatives to wedding or engagement rings. Flowers are a wonderful symbol of love, joy and attraction – and to that we add freedom,” says Radek, summing up the symbolism that represents the ideal intimate relationship.
