WEDDING IDYLL IN ISTRIA

Jasmina and Stjepan dreamed of an intimate wedding amongst their closest family and friends. At the same time, they wanted their big day to be an extraordinary experience not only for themselves, but also for their dear guests. So, first of all, they thought about the destination where they would spend the long wedding weekend. With Jasmina born and raised in Zagreb, and Stjepan's hometown in the seaside town of Split, the choice fell on a neutral location at the third apex of an imaginary geographical triangle - the peninsula of Istria. The bride, a project manager by profession, did not deny her skills. Her planning is, without irony, like a walk in a rose garden. Several trips to Istria resulted in an unusual venue for the wedding party, comfortable and stylish accommodation for all sixteen guests and the beautiful San Servolo Church in Buje, where the ceremony took place. Jasmina had stumbled upon the church during one of her trips by pure chance, lured inside on a sunny afternoon by the music of the organ and feeling that this was the place to be. Once the venue and convenient date were determined, the most important items on the list, the newlyweds were able to relax. They had also managed to book their favourite photographer, Dalibora - after all, there were fewer weddings taking place due to the pandemic and the otherwise busy photographer had a date available. A few months before the wedding, they fine-tuned the other attributes of a proper wedding, including flowers, dresses and rings. As planned, the ceremony was held at 1 p.m. to allow time for a reception at the restaurant and a move to the villa for the party, where guests could enjoy the sunset overlooking the Alps with a glass of champagne. "It turned out to be a brilliant decision, everyone loved the fact that it was the first wedding they hadn't been devastated after, on the contrary they recharged their batteries and had lots of energy. And please did they stay up until three in the morning, including grandma!" laugh the newlyweds.
