In the centre of Brno there’s a chic shopping arcade with the picturesque name of Rozkvět, meaning Bloom. Aptly, the arcade is home to a floral studio called Kvetu (literally: I bloom) opened in 2022 by Bára Šmídová, who will create bouquets for you and advise you on the ideal house plants for your home and the best limited-series ceramic pots and vases to go with them. And needless to say, she’ll be only too happy to help you choose flowers for your big day.

Music for the eyes

A perfect wedding is like beautiful music, a composition where every instrument has its place – the time, the venue, the dress, the food, colours and decoration. And if you’re looking for a floral virtuoso, look no further. Bára lives and breathes flowers, she has a wealth of experience, and she knows exactly which flowers won’t wilt during an all-day event in the heat of July and which are suited to a chilly February wedding. She listens to the couple’s wishes and throws herself into designing the florals with enthusiasm, empathy and a sense of occasion. It all starts with a simple enquiry, and the earlier you contact her and the more information you give, the better: where and when you’re getting married, whether the ceremony will be in a church, a chateau or a meadow, how many guests you’re inviting, what your budget is...

I Bloom to make your wedding bloom

After a face-to-face meeting to sort out the details, Bára prepares a mood board, so you get a very good idea of the type of flowers to expect, how big the nosegays for the bridesmaids will be and so on. Once you’ve given her the nod, you can forget all about it and merely look forward to the result! Her floral studio uses local produce wherever possible, sourced from Czech and Slovak farms or proven Fair Trade suppliers. She and her team leave nothing to chance in their endeavour to create a fresh, harmonious experience on the big day itself and lasting, sweet-smelling memories.
