MILE DAY & BIG NIGHT
On Friday, 22 November 2024, the first ever Mile Day & Big Night took place in Prague’s Almanac X Alcron Hotel, and the event was a success beyond our wildest dreams! The intention was to bring together wedding professionals and give them the chance to find common ground, understanding and inspiration. Take a look back on a great day and memorable evening with us.
The event kicked off with a morning segment of fast-paced and hard-hitting presentations by wedding professionals from a variety of disciplines. We heard inspiring success stories and also cautionary tales of business disasters, each of which was followed by lively debate.
The afternoon segment started with an interdisciplinary discussion – a “get it off your chest” session where nothing was left unsaid! With the air duly cleared, there was a lot of laughter and interesting questions from the audience. Wedding coordinators, DJs and photographers all had their say, and an atmosphere of mutual understanding prevailed.
Tereza Karkošová and her renowned Kafe venku coffee service made sure everyone stayed perky. The daytime catering, which was snapped up in no time at all, was provided by Petra Grombiříková aka Petra dělá catering. You can find out more about these ladies and their businesses in the Mile 24.
The Big Night brought in 150 delightful guests to marvel at and relish the gastronomic art of the Ze Mě gastro team (more in the Mile 24). As all the guests laidsiege to the round table and its selection of dishes, it was the perfect opportunity for successful networking.
CANS took care of soft drinks throughout the day, while a selection of wines from JustWine and refined signature drinks from Vikeza Gastro contributed to the relaxed evening mood. Autentika agency helped with the production of the whole event.
The grand highlight of the evening was the Mile Awards 2024, the first instalment of what will be an annual competition for professional wedding photographers – you can see the winning images on pages 102–107. Our hosts for the evening were designer Linda Procházka and singer Marcel Procházka, who also treated us to a wonderful solo music show. Then DJ Zima rounded the evening off.
Even now, after the euphoric cocktail of positive debate, great food and drink and wonderful people having a good time has worn off, we still have satisfied smiles on our faces and we’re already looking forward to next year.
