"Paris Salad" by Jakub Janošík

Something original. Something distinctive. Something with a touch of flair. A little detail for pleasure. These phrases were running through our heads when we were looking for the perfect partner for our merch. And then came that fateful sentence. "We make socks," said Salvátor Soška, founder of the original Czech brand ferdinand., in a succinct and clear way. And the decision was made, but more on that next time... Now let's see what's actually going on with the socks and who ferdinand. is.

The original Czech sock shop was created in the autumn of 2016. Salvatore was sixteen years old and together with creative Jakub Janošík they decided to take ordinary socks to an extraordinary level. And so was born the brand ferdinand., which breaks down established standards and collaborates not only with Czech design icons. The name refers to Ferdinand Vaněk, the popular alter ego of Václav Havel, who was famous for wearing short trousers.

ferdinand. collaborates with local designers, illustrators and artists to create the sock designs. Maxim Velčovský, Tomski & Polanski, Michal Bačák, Pavel Fuksa and others have designed their socks. The socks from ferdinand. are thus characterized by their imaginative, colourful, novel details and often original names. Who wouldn't like "Shitting" socks by Eliška Podzimková?

"Don't look for any big overlap. It's just a small detail for fun," says Salvátor casually. Ferdinand. bet on quality, original design and production in the Czech Republic. And that's exactly why they won us over. We are working together and will soon present you a new product! What are we going to say, we can't wait. What about you?
