TO THE BAR AND THE ALTAR.

They were introduced by friends in a bar, they corresponded via ICQ for a week, went on a date and since then Veronika and Michal have been together - for almost 13 years. Last summer they got engaged on a moonlit night with the sound of the waves, and then all that was left was to give the wedding day a concrete outline. "The plan was for a small town wedding, just a ceremony with parents and witnesses and an evening with their closest friends. We don't hide the fact that the first wave of coronavirus and the restrictions that came with it influenced the decision. But that didn't stop us from making the wedding our own - so that we felt as natural and special as possible on the day," says Michal. However, the original intention was changed by the very kind feedback from their friends over the wedding announcement handed out. "Thank goodness for that, because in the end it was amazing to have our wonderful friends around for this moment. Forty people came to the ceremony, a reception was prepared for twelve of our closest friends and in the evening around thirty of us gathered at the same place," the newlyweds describe. They both embarked on the preparations equally four months before the marriage. They rented a garden under Špilberk, where the entire wedding day took place - from the ceremony at noon through the served lunch to the evening party with a buffet. Veronika works as a fashion designer for a men's brand and it was the groom's shirt that served as one of the inspirations for the floral decoration. A friend tailored a playlist just for the fiancés, divided into time blocks according to the schedule of the whole day. With the witnesses and a few friends, Veronica and Michal met a few times beforehand and divided up the positions and responsibilities. "Thanks to their willingness and enthusiasm, everything turned out to be an eight-star success," smiles Veronika. The couple took great care with the drinks they served. The welcome buffet before the ceremony included slivovice and wedding muffins (as the wedding cakes are called in Slovácko, where both the bride and groom come from), while the lunch and the evening reception were complemented by quality Moravian wine. Cheers and love!
