ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD.

It started with a ringless engagement and ended with a warm and unconventional wedding. The wedding of Verča and Víta was preceded by a spontaneous proposal one ordinary evening. Verča got her engagement jewellery a month later, but the fiancés had no idea how 2020 would shake up their wedding plans. Due to the pandemic, their original ideas of a May wedding at their chosen venue took a backseat and an alternative solution had to be devised. "We were probably a bit desperate for a while, until one afternoon at my parents' house we discussed that it could be in our garden or on the football field. My parents took it as a joke at first, but we caught on and didn't let go." The newlyweds had been planning the wedding for more than a year and finally organised it in two months at the new date. And it was a success! Vít'a, as a wedding photographer, put all his experience into his own wedding, and family and friends lent a hand. The newlyweds opted for a civil ceremony in the garden of the bride's parents and the family atmosphere accompanied the wedding party on the green lawn, about 200 meters away, where the father of the bride works as a caretaker. The tent, prepared in case of rain (which did come), was scented with the bride's favourite freesias accompanied by ivy, the cake was baked by the groom's mother, and the refreshments were a self-service buffet. Sporting activities were optional for the wedding party, except for the chalk shot, which everyone had to jump over on the way out of the ceremony - the couple set the example first. Despite the apparent adversity, the newly married Verča is clear: "I loved that because of the covid, we ended up having to sort of start planning from scratch a second time and we had a wedding that probably suited us a lot more than the original plans."
