We associate the term renaissance with the renewal, the revival of something that has been and will be in the limelight again. This is exactly how Lukáš Klimčák imagined the journey of Czech glass in 2019. And if a skilled person with a vision gets down to business, even an otherwise slightly declining traditional craft can experience such a renaissance. Within a few years, the young and passionate entrepreneur managed to bring back to the limelight the original Czech decor, which earned the nickname hobnail in America at the beginning of the 20th century and which was then popular with thousands of households. Because glass does not have to compromise between beauty and function. Glass has both. Thanks to Klimch, this historically valuable décor has moved into the new century and is returning to our tables in its modern form. Small works of art created under the hands of glassmakers at the Jílek Glassworks in Kamenický Šenov travel all over the world, fulfilling Lukáš Klimčák's wish that the legacy of great handmade work will resonate abroad. The new collections are then created under the guidance of creative director František Jungvirt, who has been working with Klimchi since 2020.
