Both bridal outfits have almost architectural qualities, with unsuspected details standing out in the play of light and shadow. An oversized silver jacket paired with a delicate skirt evokes confident elegance and strength. When designing it, Šárka Zejdová had in mind the well-known saying about what a bride should wear on her wedding day, but more important than whether something is borrowed or blue is connecting the past with the future and new beginnings. For her wedding dress design, Klára Drevenák took inspiration from Degas’ famous paintings of young ballerinas. Their fragility and innocence remain, but the girl has grown into a woman. And the dancers’ flowing skirts are replaced by sophisticated tailoring.
