MILE 29 - COVERSTORY

WHERE HISTORY SAYS “I DO”

In the heart of historic Prague stands an Art Nouveau building with a history spanning more than a century. Originally Grand Hotel Evropa, built between 1904 and 1905 after the designs of Czech architects Alois Dryák and Bedřich Bendelmayer, the celebrated structure once hosted Franz Kafka — who gave his only public reading here — and became a beloved meeting place among the likes of Václav Havel and Nicholas Winton.

I want to buy this

The preserved Art Nouveau ornaments and proportions of the original building, known today as the W Prague, created an unparalleled setting for the shoot, in which the wedding gowns of fashion designer Veronika Kostková truly shine. Her creations unite timeless elegance with precise tailoring — flowing dresses with elaborately crafted details.

Behind the lens — photographer Matej Kmeť, whose sensitivity to light, composition, and detail resonates perfectly with Veronika‘s work. Together with
the unique atmosphere of the W Prague, they formed a trio that transformed every shot into a story — the designer‘s artisanal perfection, the photographer‘s visual precision, and the soulful atmosphere of the space. The result speaks for itself.
